چکیده

The absorption and circular dichroism spectra of the intercalation complexes with DNA of the 9-aminoacridine chromophore in monoand bisfunctional forms have been determined in the visible/near-ultraviolet region. The experimental spectra were deconvoluted into contributions from three (It*, n) transitions and the dipole and rotatory strengths of one long-axis and one shortaxis polarized transition were determined for each intercalating species. The experimental results were compared with theoretical calculations of the induced CD of intercalation complexes and a series. of inferences were drawn concerning the geometry of the complexes.

In vitro study of drug-protein interaction using electronic absorption, fluorescence, and circular dichroism spectroscopy

In the near future, design of a new generation of drugs targeting proteins will be required. Considering the complex bond between the drug and protein, the structure and stability of the target protein should be considered. So far, a series of in vitro investigations have been conducted with the aim of predicting drug-biological medium interactions. In these studies, use of spectroscopic method...

Selected deoxyoctanucleotides and their daunomycin complexes: Infrared absorption and vibrational circular dichroism spectra

The infrared absorption (IR) and vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra are reported for six self-complementary deoxyoctanucleotides complexed with the anthracycline drug daunomycin. The oligomers included d(CGCGCGCG) d(CGCGCGCG), d(CGCATGCG) d(CGCATGCG) and d(CGCTAGCG) d(CGCTAGCG), which possess a 50CGC triplet, and d(CGATATCG) d(CGATATCG), d(CGTATACG) d(CGTATACG) and d(CGAATTCG) d(CGAAT...

Conformational state of DNA in chromatin subunits. Circular dichroism, melting, and ethidium bromide binding analysis.

This study compares some physical properties of DNA in native chromatin and mono-, di-, trinucleosomes obtained after mild micrococcal nuclease digestion. Melting curves and derivatives are shown to be very similar from one sample to another although a shift from 79 to 82 degrees C is observed between the mainly monophasic peak of multimers and chromatin. Careful analysis of the positive band o...

Spectroscopic investigation on the interaction of DNA with superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles doped with chromene via dopamine as cross linker

Objective(s): The interaction of DNA with iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) was studied to find out the interaction mechanism and design new drug delivery systems. Materials and Methods: The interaction of calf thymus DNA (ctDNA) with SPIONs doped with 2H-chromene via dopamine as cross linker (SPIONs@DA-Chr) was studied using the UV absorption spectroscopy, viscosity measurement, circular dichr...

Chiroptical properties, binding affinity, and photostability of a conjugated zinc porphyrin dimer complexed with left-handed Z-DNA and right-handed B-DNA.

We have studied the UV-vis absorption and chiroptical properties, binding affinity and photostability of a conjugated positively charged butadiyne-linked Zn(ii) porphyrin dimer bound to DNA sequence poly(dG-dC)2. Right-handed B-DNA, spermine-induced Z-DNA and Co(iii)-induced Z-DNA have been explored. Resonance light scattering (RLS) spectra showed formation of porphyrin aggregates in the presen...
